Les Clefs d’Or (translated as The Golden Keys) is a professional association of hotel concierges, with approximately 4000 members working over 80 countries. It was officially founded in France in 1952 with Denmark as one of the founding countries.
The goal of the Concierge is to serve the hotel guest and deliver service of the highest standard. No request is to small or large, and the Concierge will do all in his or her power to deliver what the guest needs as long as it is legally, morally and humanly possible. With an in-depth knowledge of the local city, area and sights the Concierge is there to unlock the city for the hotel guest. The Concierge will use his or her own experience and expertise, and have access to a network of hotel professionals around the world.
Before earning the right to wear Golden Keys, those who aspire to become a member must have several years of experience as a hotel concierge, must pass comprehensive testing and must prove, beyond doubt, their ability to deliver highest quality of service.
